The ARC gives up again. A week ago I found a sterling basket which weighed 100 grams of .925 and yesterday I found a 112 more grams of .925 for around the same price of the silver basket for $6.50. They must have different sorters working on items that come up like this, than the sorters who do the jewelry, because those sorters are pricing sterling jewelry at more than spot prices. What I mean is they're pricing things like little silver rings in the 35 dollar range. Gotta a love those misinformed brick-brac sorters.

Keep it coming

Another nice find.

I take it you know that's a Gorham piece. There looks like what may be the remains of a date mark symbol but, if so, I'm not sure what it is (or even which way up it's supposed to be):

Huh I never noticed that mark and I did wonder why there wasn't a gorham date mark, but just figured there wasn't one. It appears to be a shamrock, which would date it to 1913.

Yes, it's a weak mark and heavily polished but may well be shamrock... in which case your dating is correct.

PS: I put a potential date to your Whiting silver basket on your other recent silver thread.
