went out today to a few spots with my brother. the first one was too shady to hunt without some kind of permission. its a shame too because it looks like it might be a good one. hopefully we can track down the go ahead. then we went to a park and a school, with the usual clad results. i did manage to find these captains bars which are marked sterling. they also are marked shold-r-form, and has a shield stamped into the back. i tried to scan the back but it doesnt work very well. if any one knows anything about the possible age of the bars i would love to hear about it! :)

Good job. All I can tell you is that they are Captain's bars.

Unless they are marked I doubt you'll know the age. They still wear them just like that.

thanks for the nice replies everyone! silver is silver i suppose, although i would rather have it in the form if an old coin! ::) ;D i was still happy to get it!

Any silver is better than no silver, congrats.

Nice silver find

If it is Army, Air Force or Marine Corps, then it is Captain bars, If it is Navy, then it is Lieutenant. The Navy always has to be difficult. LOL

Nice silver O-3 bars there Red. Silver is silver.

I don't know anything about them because the cub scouts is as high as I got in the service of our country.

Silver is always good and a nice military piece for sure. Wonder how the Cap lost these?
