A bundle of petrified wood?

I was in Grand Junction Colorado yesterday looking for opalized wood when I found this. The more I look at it the more it looks like there are chunks of petrified wood facing different directions. I tried to take good pictures of it. If you would like any more I can get them real fast.








I also found of good bit of plant fossils in the area along with other cool minerals.
