A chilly 90 minute relic recoveries

Went for a 90 minute hunt, battery life was out.
Chilly 33F feeling like 28F
Hand warmers, dressed up.
I hit this site 3 times prior the planting of beans.
So finds were far and in between the heavy iron.

A church charm

Then a few feet away a butter knife

TRAP NO.12

Weird sounding 82, dragged.
Turned out to be a little buckle

Went a little over past the rock foundation pile and got myself a button

No detail till I scraped it with Jim's Double Ended Toothpick
Also it had a special double rubbing with the Mrs 🌶's lemon rind.

Got a blaster, thought copper.
Yup 😁

Actually I was quite surprised that it wasn't disc'd kissed.

The button didn't have much going for it before I started to pick at it then saw a tiny bit of gold flashing after rubbing it for a bit.
The lemon treatment really brought out what was hiding.
The curtain rings can vary in size and this is one of the biggest (that's not plow hit).

It's turning out that way.
Bit more work on it yet.
Trying to make out the maker still.
I used some chalk then dusted it off to highlight the letters.

It's brass, with the iron tongue. The site is so full of iron and the soils really leaches the iron staining.
Probably off a shoe or leather strap of sorts.

Could be. I think “superior quality” is there, not sure about “extra”. Seems like not enough letters? But hard to tell — and even harder to search. Unfortunately “superior quality” matches a lot of descriptions, not just the back mark.

Yes it's a sleigh bell
Machine stamped-late 1800s-early 1900s
