A Cornucopia of Interesting Relics

I spent some time working through a section of woods that had produced some nice items in the past. I love detecting in the Fall...no bugs...leaves are off all the trees and undergrowth...just a more enjoyable experience overall. This turned out to be a very productive hunt, with a variety of finds



The two buckles are my favorites. Both are quite small, but have some great detail



The medallion has an interesting design. It appears to be a runner with stalks of corn on his left, and waves at his feet to the right. The military button doesn't appear that old. I would guess WW-2. The cuff link even has a little gilding left.



Finally came a ladies Armitron watch and a very crunchy Liberty nickel. I think the nickel is dated 1900

I'm in full agreement with others on the 2 buckles-both are really nice recoveries.
Sometimes the small is really top shelf when it comes to a find.

The boy running find is interesting also.
I've recovered similar shaped items-different scene.
I wonder if it was a pin/brooch type of thing, or a rosette.

Nice relic recovery, those buckles are sweet. I love to relic hunt in the fall , don't forget to wear orange for deer season .

pepperj- After some research I belief that the " running man" medallion is most likely a high school track & field medal...go figure!

Awesome finds, and as everyone else has said, those buckles are great!

If you clean your great seal button and find it has no rim it would date from 1902-1910. If it has a round rim, 1910-1927 and if the rim is more angular, 1927-present day. Also, if you can get a backmark that can help date your button.

Thanks for those button tips fyrffytr1! The back mark on this button is impossible to read, so I will try your other suggestions.
