Finally got back out after close to two months off. Was getting discouraged after mostly finding junk no matter where I went. Spent 3 hours at this permission with lots of metal in the ground, but went low and slow on one side of the house and pulled these few signals out. My first SLQ, 1917 type 1 (thought I hit it big with a 1916), my first dog tax tag from 1914, and a cow tooth that just happened to be in the same hole as the pocket watch parts.

Any ideas on what the decorative piece of metal could be part of?

Nice finds - decorative piece of metal might be something you have on a vintage bedroom dresser (for looks and mounted with nails)? Thanks for sharing...

Congrats on the SLQ.
I agree, the decorative piece of brass is probably furniture ware.

Congrats on some great finds, and your first Standing Liberty Quarter.

Congrats on the SLQ and other nice finds

Sweet hunt!! Love the SLQ but, in this case the dog tag takes the cake.
Congrats!

NICE FINDS ..

You are not playing fairly sir! We need to see better pictures.

I want to see the dog tag and the SLQ, well cropped, with light hitting it from an angle so I can see the detail. How am I supposed to be jealous of you when you don't provide adequate pictures?

Congrats on the really nice finds. I am sorry that the scary tooth was in one of your holes, hopefully that won't happen again.

Best of luck to you!

That's good to hear I can also get discouraged junk is always part of the hobby , Those are the finds that make it worthwhile,, Thanks for sharing!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also found the type one date worn off those two years 1916 and 1917 only I'm pretty sure mine is the 1917 the 16 was valuable cause they made so few and people need that one to complete their collections!!!!!

Chomping at the bit to get back to this property. I spent 3 hours there and only covered a small side yard. I know I missed a lot, bunch of iron in the ground, but low and slow was the key to saving these bits so far. Hopefully the rest of the yard has undisturbed grounds as well, I know this house is much earlier than 1900s. Property records say 1820, but it's a log built structure probably going back into the late 1700s.

Added a better pic of the SLQ
