Hey Everyone,
Yesterday I got into some thick wet clay muck at this spot that I've dug before but not with much perseverance. This hill is made up of giant slabs of earth that have slid down into the creek, and it's very uneven, and so it's hard to get deep enough to find anything - first you've gotta dig through these 5 ft thick mounds. I took a shovel out and decided to just go for it. 4 ft down I was getting discouraged but I finally hit some rusted wire and barrel. 'Got some china and pottery showing up, and then I hit glass. It was a mix of stuff, some fruit jars from the 1940s, and then a base of a whiskey from before the turn of the century. It was very unpredictable, I think because the hill had moved so much over time.
Anyway, I pulled this electrically blue insulator from about 4 ft down, it's the first insulator that I've dug. It has no markings, and I don't know much about insulators. And then I dug my first cobalt ink! It's kind of beat up, but that's okay. I'm looking forward to hitting that hill again!
