A Couple Of Silvers

It’s really dry here, and starting to get hot. I didn’t let that stop me though. I set out this morning to a place that looks like a big park, but it is actually a torn down neighborhood on the poor side of town. It’s a beautiful place, but furiously trashy. Here is a pic of TNet member Tenspeed.



It’s not a post without a pic of everyone’s favorite antique, Smittyman.



Here is a pic of the trash. You have to in the right mindset to hunt this place.



If you don’t dig the trash, you won’t find the treasure, just ask Smittyman. Here is the clad and modern bullets.



This was a decent signal, of course collocated with trash, but high and repeatable. I was thrilled to see a silver quarter!



I was so sure that this was a stainless steel washer! It just didn’t look quite right in the clod, so when a Merc showed up, I was really happy.



I ended up with 6 wheaties and 2 silvers. That’s pretty good for me. YTD silver coins: 20

You guys really stick with it, and it paid off. Nice silvers. My skin crawled a bit seeing all of those dug bottle caps. Judging from all of the handgun ammo, it must have been a tough neighborhood!

Tom, congrats on a great day, detecting with friends. The keepers are simply a bonus when you have days like that. And wow..the trash! You certainly are right about picking through the trash layer(s) to get to the treasure. oh but it is so easy! yeah, but the trash makes the good stuff even sweeter! I do know what you mean about the stainless washer LOL. I only have one silver Washington but have 3 Walkers, go figure. persistence pays off and you have been just that. I do figure that you guys are a little competitive too and in a fun way of course. congrats on the double silver day. Jerry
