Found these today while out for a quick hunt on my property (I live on an 18th century New England farm). #1 appears to be a shoe buckle, but I am not sure about #2. Maybe a broach? If anyone can date either or knows any more info please let me know. Cheers!

Nice work on your outing
Congratulations

Cool finds !

Nice finds.

IMHO, #2 looks like a furniture escutcheon. Although looking at the reverse, not sure.

You may be right. The reverse is curious to me as well.

Nice!!! Congrats!!!!

Thank you all for your comments and for having a look!

I'd guess #1 is more like a hair clip...I've found a few similar, and assuming yours is the same, it's way too flimsy to have a utilitarian use such as a shoe buckle

Agreed with hopper about the item. It is too small for any shoe buckle I know about and is asymmetrical.
