Hi Everyone,

I found this item on a recent hunt in an area that has produced a number of colonial era coins and relics.

At the top portion of the piece someone carved the date " 1775". The interior section also appears to form letters and/ or numbers..."RA9"..."BA9"...honestly it's hard to tell. Is this a piece of fancy horse tack?
Is it part of a belt buckle? I tried to get feedback from some local wildlife, but they couldn't help...

If anyone could help me ID this thing, I would really appreciate it.

Cheers and HH!

Yeah, you can tell by the look on the deer's face, he is clueless also!! Nice find.

Not much help from me. I'm probably wrong, but to me it looks like some type of key fob. If I've found it, I would guess early-mid 1900's considering the style. The 1775 could also be the key/item number.

Nice find, congrats! A possible FOB? :dontknow:

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Very nice, Congrats!

Looks like a watch fob to me also

Last letter looks like an s to me

Those numbers (1775) on the top look stamped to me.

the relic looks cast to me , not carved or stamped, I'm not really feeling the lettering and think it's just a part of the construction that resembles letters. . I agree a fob.

OK. Thanks everyone....I'll accept fob. Sometimes my eyes see only what they want to see....
