Relic Hunting
Cold harbor continues to produce relics. Trenches that have been "hunted out are still worth hunting. Slowly and carefully will still produce results. Always makes me think of the men who were there. The last picture is of a small stamped brass item that looks like a ribbon on a flower. Anybody recognize it? Thanks for looking and happy hunting!

Could the eagle have two heads perhaps? I enhanced the photo a bit and it looks sort of like a Russian Imperial style button but what the heck would it be doing there?

Great hunt Bud! I've hunted trenches before and it's a feeling that is hard to explain. Congrats on some sweet finds and thanks for saving the history. No help on the mystery item.

DiggerVet, Congrat's on some very nice trench finds. Proof that although hunted and hunted hard, all has not been found. Well Done. History brought to the surface and saved.

I just finished watching the Ken Burns Civil War epic documentary. Cold Harbor was part of the series. Great history lesson for me. However, I would have a lot of deep pauses when uncovering buttons and bullets...

NICE CW FINDS.....
