I got out for a few hours before the rain today with my buddy Chris. We searched a new site that has been clear cut. We found a hill that produced a few colonial relics including a few buckles, melted lead, black glass, a pewter button & a couple matching iron knives (possibly patch knives?) There wasn't really enough iron to be a homesite, it was possibly a camp but not enough to say one way or another (Rev War activity in the area). Chris found a beautiful complete red quartz arrowhead, I found some broken ones. There was another homesite on the property but it was loaded with iron & junk, almost impossible to detect (late 1800s). I did eye spy a mercury dime right on top of the ground though! Too bad we didn't get all day but happy to save a little history!
