On Saturday I attended my first club hunt of the year where some large cents were found, two cent coin, gold chain bracelet, colonial buttons, etc.......
My finds included the flat button shown in the photo with a vine design and a crown on the back, "Treble Gilt", "Standard Colour". Searching the Internet these buttons are anywhere from late colonial times to early 1800s although I have not found the exact one online. Maybe someone could help with a more accurate date.
I checked the wheat pennies I found and to my surprise a first for me, a 1909 VDB! No S mint mark but still a cool find.
I included a photo of a bullet I found at the same site maybe someone could share some info on that as far as how old it may be.
Monday I got out to the woods near me. The area I live seen a lot of Revolutionary war action and I was lucky to find two fired musket balls, see photos. Like the two I found last week one is larger than the other. I really need to buy a scale to weigh them.
