I got out with Lee and Larry this evening and got some decent finds.

We went to a spot where I had heard that old coins had been found. The field was basically barren but I did manage that sterling piece and one wheat out there. The sterling piece reads "MIZPAH" on one side and has half a heart with an arrow through it.

Then at the next locatin I managed two more wheats, a 1943P Silver War Nickel, an 1893 Indian Head which really surprised me when I found it, a nice 1938 Indiana Dog Tax tag and that funky pin with a person in the center of it. Anybody have any idea if it stands for anything?

Hope everyone else did as well or better than I did! :)

nice stuff brian. that pin looks kind of like the girl scout logo doesnt it?

Looks good to me Brian! Glad you were able to get out and about today.

I've been couped up indoors all day watching the rain fall.... :(

I like the pendant with the man in the center the best, it's very unique - something you don't see everyday.

Congrats and thanks for sharing HH/NS

I took the advice of hollowpointred and looked up girl scout pins and it is a brownie girl scout pin. Thanks! :)

Found out what Mizpah is....

"Mizpah is an emotional bond between people who are separated (either physically or by death). Mizpah jewellery is worn to signify this bond and the word "mizpah" can often be found on headstones in cemeteries and on other memorials. From the Bible Genesis 31 "And Mizpah; for he said, The Lord watch between me and thee, when we are absent one from another.""

My wife, the former brownie and girl scout leader says that it is brownie pin with an elf figure that had to do with a poem, but she forgets the words to the poem now.
