A few neat finds

Been awhile since I've found anything semi worthwhile to put on here. Metal detecting for me lately has been bust after bust with each outing. My field was plowed over again though I've gone over it many many times I manged to pull a few interesting things. A small baby spoon a plow had its way with, a full brass Winchester shotgun shell(not sure how common these are first I've ever found or seen), and a round thing with I O F on the top. Some research says it's Independent Order of Foresters(looks quite old can't find one like it though to pinpoint the age). Honestly not a bad day being how often I metal detect said field.

Been way too long for me. Every outing has been a disappointment lately. I was surprised to find three neat things at one go. So kind of made up for it.

I don't live too far from the Winchester Mystery house. They probably have better pieces than this but I'll see if they want it for me it will just sit in my collection box since I'm not far may as well see

Congratulations on a good hunt. The all brass shotgun shell is older than most we find. I found 2 in a dump once and one of them had the reloading funnel still in it like they were going to reload and changed their mind. The brass shotgun shells are not something you see everyday. Keep swingin, the more you hunt the more you find. Good luck.

Looks like you had a great day swinging your machine. I remember the early 10 guage shot gun shells were all brass. I also think there right of the IOF token

Good to see you get a few different keepers John.
The shotgun shell is a good one, not many have dug them, kind of a rarer recovery.

We all go through the dry spells, kind of the mojo isn't working.
Then it finally does, and many times I and wonder what I had done differently.
