The drought has made it pretty tough going this year. We recently had a decent rain that helped immensely. 3 points a couple scrapers and a decent little graver made my effort worthwhile.

Nice finds and insitus. Pic4, rightmost, is that oolitic chert? I rarely see that killer material. Thanks.

I like those little unifacial (?) scrapers too.

So there are things to do in South Dakota!

there is plenty to do here.
Went rock hunting in western South Dakota yesterday and picked up some nice pieces.
Most are in the vibrator now polishing. Here are two pieces of petrified wood, and a small prairie agate I picked up.

thanks for calling my attention to that t-dog, now that I look at it under magnification, I do believe it is.

Those are some cool stones. I have always thought of SD as not a place I want to live. I'm starting to learn how the Natice Culture is vastly rooted there. I see more and more, in books and elsewhere, some of the best artifacts ever from SD. I'll ask, hey were was that found, a log of the time SD is the answer. I met someone who has the type and similar arrowhead at the top of the homescreen of treasurenet in the thumbnail, told me it came from SD. Forgot the name but its the pick of the thumbnail for this forum.

How is your guys' fishing?

Awesome stuff

I'm going to say it again. The white one is extraordinary.

Fishing? Hit the Missouri River in the summertime and the walleye fishing is great. Boat ramps have more Minnesota and Nebraska vehicles than you would imagine. Ice fishing in the winter is also a big attraction. Pheasant hunting if big, and my favorite, deer hunting, is very good.
here are some of mine.

Love the deer (esp "Sneakin' Muley"). Time for a HD Flat Screen TV.

Those are some really nice finds due to the dry conditions. :icon_thumright:

We haven't had very much moisture around here lately also. The last three times that I have been out hunting I haven't found anything worth keeping except some pretty material. I have been thinking of buying a polisher to polish some of thse colorful material that I find around here also.
