I managed two separate very short hunts so I’m just combining them in one post. The first thing I found was a first and different find for me. I wasn’t even sure what I had at first until some research. It ended up being a 1920/30’s marble gear shifter knob. My second find wasn’t a very common one for me either. I only ever dug two others like it over the years but this one is the smallest yet. It’s a late 1800’s fly terrett. It would attach to the horse reins to help scare the flys away. I’m not sure how well they would’ve worked though. Haha
On a second short time out I managed to find a 1861 Nova Scotia one cent coin, a 1968 silver dime and a nice old little brooch pin. The dime was the last year with silver and only a portion of them had silver. Luckily this was one of them. Also the broach was complete but once the dirt was cleaned off the needle part was so brittle it just crumbled apart. Nice to bring the metal detector along for work in case I find a free moment along the way. Thanks for looking! 😁👍

Very Cool!!! Congrats!!!

Couple of cool recoveries.
The marble know is a very nice addition to a display.
I have seen pictures of the terretts before but have never dug one.
Well done!

Great, helped me solve a mystery find about 10 yrs ago. Found a terrett obviously but without the moving centre bit. Always wondered what on earth it was.

The glass piece is an aftermarket gear shift knob.

Yeah same here, I found one back in 2000 and never bothered to figure out what it was haha. But how did mine end up in the lake. I think they threw their trash out into the water behind a late 1700's home built on the lake back in the day.

You did good :) Thank you for showing us all
