I located the farmer of this corn field that I've been wanting to metal detect, It has some old barns but the homestead is long gone. Not sure where the house was located at but I'm looking for signs as I walk. Like locating a coin, that might do it!

So I dared the temps this morning for a bit, but windy, cold then snow. I ended up with a nice buckle though. I'll try again tomorrow once the bunny has left for the day.

1st pic is from January in the snow.

Re: A good start in the corn field (update)

I had a an hour to get back here in the cold and snow flurries til I couldn't take it no more! This time I came back with a ncie silver plated fork... nicely plowed under for sure! It's quite strong, I can't even bend it back into shape.

National Silver Co., silver plated.

Very good pictures, thanks for showing and goodluck if you make it back there !

Looks like a good spot that will give up a lot of nice finds. I would definitely hit it harder when you get the chance.

Wow, that first pic looks like calendar material to me!

Loods like a great site. I hope you finds lots of keepers!

Looks like a promising site Good Luck. Can't wait to see the goodies from there.

Can't wait to get back, but not today. A fresh 8" of new snow overnite!

I feel your pain. We had temps in the 70's and now it's 50 degrees colder. Yesterday we had the "sideways snow" too.

Looks like a neat spot to hunt. Keep us updated on your finds and keep posting more great pics.

cool on the permission to hunt... good finds so far i am sure there are many more targets waiting to be dug... always nice to find a place where noone else had probably looked.
