The ground here is finally thawed enough to dig, so you know what that means. I got out last night for a little bit. It was the first time I really got to use my ACE 250 that I got for Christmas. I haven't heard enough good things about the Ace, but I had a lot of trouble with it. I had my sensitivity a little bit higher than half, and discrimination was set on Coins. I didn't find a damn thing with it. I'd be swinging, and I'd hear a signal, then it would be gone. I wasn't able to find many repeating signals, and when I DID get one, I'd dig, and there would be nothing there. I'd rescan, and the signal would be gone from both the hole and the plug. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

After the discouraging hunt with the Ace, I went back and got my Tracker IV. Started picking up signals with that all over. I really love my Tracker. Pinpointing is easy with it, while on the Ace I don't even think the pinpoint feature works. Started digging signals with the Tracker and I got plenty of trash, an old brass doorknob, and a single 1969 memorial cent.

Anybody have some tips for me with getting used to the Ace? I think it might be the shape of the coil that's messing me up. It seems really hard to pinpoint a target with it, and it's kind of awkward to swing.

The only thing I can think of is to try it on jewelry mode. Some of those targets you were getting but then lost were probably in the discriminated out range. WHen you find a target and it plays that disappearing game, take a look at the screen and you will probably see it in one of the id's that is discriminated out. The reason I say this is that you mention with the Tracker IV, you found a lot of trash.

Try all metal or jewelry mode and see what comes up.

Hope this helps you.

Hi i have my Ace250 set up this way, go look at the Jewlery mode
and copy everything that is showed there into the Custom mode
then Discremenate out the Zinc Penny, don't worry a Zinc Penny
will still show up but it will re appear as being a Dime, now for the
Sensitivity setting....Dry Ground 3-4 Max, Wet Ground ie Beach
2-3 Max. If you get a bunch of FALSE signals Lower the Sensitivity
setting, thats how i run my Machine.
