Starting points anyone ? updates i guess.... and some sort of park/field setting for next few weeks ?

I would start out at Park or Field(very similar) and use M2 or M1.If the ground is soggy..use M3. I sometimes use beast mode (in the goldfield bracket) when hunting for relics in the forest and it has worked well for me but isn't that great on deeper coins

I’m interested in getting one also. Please let us know how your trials go. 👍🏼

My initial impressions ,, seems sturdy enough, carbon shaft seems to work well, no wobbles so far. The LG24 coil feels small to me and has a different balance fell to it compared to Minelab machines,, will have to see how it works out in real usage. Took 10 attempts to download the 1.17 update,, just wouldn't work, then it decided to work ??.. It is a bit fiddly trying to identify buttons as they are just dull and hard to identify at this stage.. Seems very chatty, again will need to get out into the open to work that out properly... But am happy so far, wondering if the 20 and 40 frequencies will warrant a complete recovering of old ground? perhaps the equinox 600 has missed some good stuff ?? i don't know yet.. The pin pointer ,, not really liking the feel of it, bit like a very fat Garret Carrot, may prove great in the field, but i really like the XP pointer..
Sort of wondering about beast mode ?? i mean if it is what it is said to be, why would you need any other settings ?
Will report back on anything good found in my well pounded areas....
Here's hoping

First 2 hours done today.. Forest, wet and an area i have passed over several times with Equinox.. Nothing of note, unfortunately, i was hoping the Multi would throw up some things that the nox missed,, it did Nails and more nails... I had nails at 2 VDI, right the way up to nails in the mid 30's .... No idea how the iron ferrous checker is supposed to work, but it never showed Iron once ?? ..
Beast mode is a hyper active sort of affair,, finds everything, everywhere immediately,,,, unfortunately it was all crap..
Think Beast mode and just ignore 1 - 15 on VDI is the way to go...
Swinging was easy enough, seems sturdy,, stable enough too , not too much chatter or falsing... arm grip is a little narrow, ok in T-Shirt weather, but with a coat on it is very tight..
It is fun learning a new machine.... have a feeling me and Leggy are gonna get on OK , eventually...

It sounds a lot like my Nokta Simplex.
Lots of nails and iron not really discriminated.
I like my Simplex, I’d just like to get something that discriminates better.
I have some back pain and get tired of digging wire and nails.
Thanks for the info.👍🏼

Yeah, i basically hit all the wire scraps and nails that the Nox had cut out... That was disappointing.. But i do think Beast mode will deliver eventually..

So, a few hunts in.... here is my take on the Legend....
Does the same job as the Equinox , just not as easy to use.
End of story, for now.

I have been going back and forth using a Nox 900 and the Legend. Changing and customizing the settings are easier(less confusing) with the Nox but the ferro-check on the Legend is giving it a slight edge. Also..in Beast mode I can turn the sensitivity way up (27-28) and the machine is quiet. Some days I like the Nox better and some days I like the Legend better.

So... i think this machine will be put up for sale after my holiday back home in Ireland.. it is pretty useless to be honest... not stable, jittery as hell !!.. it really has no clue what it is trying to do...
wish i had bought the EQ900 or deus 2...
not getting it, fiddled with all the settings to try and make it feasible , but alas it is not my type of machine.. pity really as i had high hopes for it.

You have the perfect metal detector there in your picture. Your Dog

The Legend and the Equinox 600, are basically the same machine as far as performance goes. No real difference.
