I've found a couple 2001 silver proof sets for $49 each. After looking on ebay I see they have sold for around $65. Are these sets worth the money and if so what makes them more valuable? These are the ten coin sets. I may be able to haggle the price a little. Also, is there a way to tell if these are actual silver sets or just clad without pulling the coins out? Any help would be greatly appreciated as to I'm new to this hobby and learning as I go. Thanks in advance!!!

I checked the listings on ebay that have actually sold, and they have sold from a low of $44 to a high of $56, so I would say $49 is pretty much the going price.

Thanks cutler. I must have not been searching the closed auctions on ebay correctly.

The Redbook lists $70 for the set. The value comes from the low mintage of about 900,000 and the fact they are collectable.
