I decided to go back to the house site where I found those 8 pieces of silver on my last 2 hunts to see if I could find some gold. I set up the Deus where everything below foil cap (35) would low tone and everything above would high tone. I set the frequency at 12.3 and used tone breaks, not any discrimination. Also, I never turned on my remote controller because I didn't want to see any ID numbers that might cause me not to dig. Instead, I just used the headphone puck and dug all good sounding high tones.
About my 5th dig, I got over a good sounding clean high tone and found a nice little gold ring. It was just barely under the surface. After I got home I checked the ID and it was 58, just a little below a nickel (64). I found several modern nickels, one War Nickel, one Mercury Dime, one Wheat Penny and 5 or 6 modern coins. When I got over the silver dime I knew it was silver by its sweet audio tone. It was around 5 inches deep. I can't wait to hit the woods with this program.
