Detector(s) used
DFX & SE
I had a tractor to repair, a garden to plant and a lawn to mow.
I wanted to go detecting...
Well, about 3 pm I got a break and went to the local school.
I hit the edges and pulled out a "Warrented Superior" hand saw emblem. I think it's 1800's and have no idea what it was doing there.
I noticed they had excavated all the old sand from the end of the slides and headed there and got signals immediately.
Although the VDI said foil, I dug a little chain that has about 1% of the gold plate left. I dug a penny, a dime, some trash and got another low VDI tone. I scraped it off a little and pinpointed a 4" target. Out pops a little ladies 14KP (Plumb, not Plated), ring!
45 minutes of fun and I was back to work!

Here it is, newbie question, what does "plumb" mean ?? Other than the mushy fruit that grows by the side of the road and makes my car all sticky.

I think it's akin to a "plumb line" to a carpenter meaning exactly:

14KP Means that You have Purchased a Ring that is EXACTLY 14 KARAT/ CARAT GOLD it has been tested and the GOLD Is 58.8% PURE! In some cases, JEWELRY MANUFACTURERS will sell 13KT -13.5KT STAMPED WITH 14KT STAMP. This is an ACCEPTABLE Practice in the JEWELRY Trade- 14KP TRANSLATES TO "FOURTEEN KARAT PLUMB", SO YOU CAN SEE THIS IS A GOOD THING!
