a Magician coin, Maybe???

i found this CRHing and have no idea. I am thinking maybe someone was going to make a magician coin but why ruin a 1965 half Also, the magician coins i have found are either hollow in the middle of have other coins in that hollow area. Is this what a coin looks like after splitting and then they take the washer looking item out to "hollow it?

Maybe it was made in the 90s when melt value was only 51c? Time to start a magic show.
