Howdy ya'll! Got a chance to swing the ole' GTI 1500 all day today! As usual, for some reason, the day started off slow but ended with a bang! I went to only 3 locations today and scored pretty well at two of the three locales. At my first location I only dug a few lincoln pennies and a pile of trash and pretty much wasted a good 2 hours of TH'ing time. :-\. So I moved to my fail safe park. Theres always some decent digs at this place. No sooner had I got there I started blowin' the speaker off of my detector. At first it was only modern clad and some scrap copper. Then after about one hour I dug a '57 rosie at 5"! Not 5 mins. later my detector squaked again and out popped a nice '36 Merc at around 6" (My first one)!! After another hour of clad and junk I met my girlfriend after she got off work to see if she wanted to TH with me. She declined, as she was whooped from a hectic day and crashed out. With only about 1 1/2 of daylight left I decided to try a new place that I had just recently got permission to hunt but hadn't yet. I'm sure glad I did. Since i only had limited time, I notched out a majority of junk signals to optimize the quality of my digs:time ratio. My first hit was a silver plated spoon at about 7", my second hit was a religious junk metal pendant made in Germany (It looks kinda old though) at 5", then I had a short period of clad and limited junk, then BAM, a '41 Washington Quarter at 6"! After that I slowed down a bit and was double and triple checking every signal. My very next dig was a '58 D Rosie just a few feet away at 5"! My adrenaline started flowing and then KABOOM, another '41 washington Quarter at around 7"!! Thats when I noticed that nightfall was setting in... >:( It took everything in me to force myself back to my vehicle with my new found silver frenzy! But at least I know there will be plenty of great digs left when I return. Especially if I'm not discriminating as much next time! I can truly say this was a memorable memorial day for me. My personal record high of a 5 silver day! I can't wait to get back out there and smash that record!! Thanks for looking and HH!! Bryan H.
