This morning I was looking for a pH level chart so I was rummaging through some old books and papers when I found a wooden box. I forgotten about it as it was given to me by a family member.
I thought it was just full of Wheaties, Oh, No, no, no...look what I discovered in the box:

N ow, how cool is that? I quickly sifted thru the box of Wheaties and definitely have a 1910 :D

the rest of the haul.

Looks like a few Canadians and other assorted coinage as well!

Wow never seen a coin like it, very beautiful coin

I just love life's little surprises!

Now, is there a good site to check on mint marks and such for Wheaties? I thank ya much:)

Good deal! That will give you something to do for a little while. Nice coin to add to the collection. 8)

how can you forget you owned a shield nickle ....and one in such great shape too....forgotten treasures are the best kinds....same feeling as the first day you found them(or given to you as is the case here) WTG

mistergee,
I didn't know it was in there! The box was given to me as the family member knew I enjoyed metal detecting...this person has since passed away. I put it aside and completely forgot about it till yesterday!

Now I'm on a quest to learn about marks/mints.

Off to check the coin forum.

Cool find, roll up those wheat's in penny rolls and put the shield nickle in a 2x2 coin flip.

WTG,

Keep @ it and HH!!
