Worked a half day yesterday, and then headed off into the woods for a little relaxation. Found a couple of musket balls right off the bat. Nice. I must be on good ground. Then got a very loud, high tone, but it sounded a little junky. Almost didn't dig it..glad I did. Out pops an intact shoe buckle.

About an hour later, I came across a beautiful signal. Very crisp, with a high VDI. I'm thinking big silver. After some gentle digging I pulled out a 1853 large cent. The obverse is pretty rough, but the reverse is in great shape.

A good day all around. Thanks for taking a look.

Hey, Scott - Good Job with the LEAD musket balls, BRASS shoe buckle and the big COPPER Large Cent - that is a nice mixture of "targets" and is always FUN to find:icon_thumleft:. You must have an "excellent" wood patch with very old Human activity to find those nice targets - Keep up the good work & let us know what else YOU find there - THANKS for posting.....BILL

Congrats on the very productive hunt! :occasion14:

That shoe buckle is just about perfect... it doesn't get better than that! You ended up on some good land! The large cent - icing on the cake! Congrats!!!!

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Thanks for the nice comments everyone. For me, its always a thrill when a complete colonial era shoe buckle pops out of the ground. A pretty rare event, and always worth a little celebration. Cheers!

Man I really like that buckle. Intact is a A+ on those. Nice LC, she still nice. Wtg
