Was in a local thrift that just had a big jewelry event looking for sterling below melt when I spied an extremely thin gold colored chain for $1.99:

I had forgot to bring a loupe but I could make out there was a manufacture’s (Baroness) name and something under it:

I didn’t even see the marking on the clasp. I thought the marking under the name baroness said 14K followed by something else so I assumed it was going to be either gold filled or plated. Imagine my surprise when it turned out the marking after the 14KT said PLUMB!

Total weight is only 1.0 gram but still a bargain.
 

Awesome. People at fleamarkets w jewelry cases sometimes sell the 14KP as gold plate. I had a buddy that used to search ebay listing item descriptions for 14kp and buy things listed as plate. Great deal cause thin chains always sell more than scrap.
