Had a chance to get out yesterday for a couple hours and was lucky enough to find the 1958 Washington quarter. Today I visited a local city owned facility that was a HS back in the late 50s through the 90s. It has been pounded by everyone over the years so there isn't much left. There is an area that is not as heavily hunted because it's grass growing over gravel. It's packed hard and tight and a royal pain to dig into. This is where I found the 1964 Roosevelt dime. In the same hole was a 1965 Rosy as well. Although the Washington quarter looked stained and horrible when dug it cleaned up nicely. The Roosevelt dime shows the wear of years traveling through the gravel. I had to call it quits today as it just got too darn hot. Had I taken any more clothing off I would have been arrested for REALLY indecent exposure. It was 62 degrees in the shade on my porch when I got home. Note the blue hue in the photos. That's the Carolina blue sky reflecting on the coins.
I hope everyone who can get out did get out and found some treasures this weekend.
