The rock with the 'divot and a hole' puzzles me. Anyone have any ideas as
to the intended use?
I found it and the semi-similar looking rock within a couple feet of each other in the same campsite I was eyeballing.

Thanks for looking.

Looks a lot like a primitive molcajete. If the little hole intersected the bowl, I’d guess a drain hole for liquid/juices. As it is, I’m pretty unsure too. Hopefully someone will know for certain.

The surfaces all look natural, that is rough surfaces. If it were man made I would expect to see the little hole with smooth edges from drilling, and the large depression smoothed also.

A crazy looking rock for sure. One of the reasons I flip chips...the oppotunity to ponder. I appreciate everyone's comments. I got nuthin' ;-)

Would anyone like me to try some real close shots of anything/anywhere on the rock. No problem here but I make no promises.
