Hey folks. I've been inspired by Romeo1 to hunt the shoreline at the site of a loyalist landing/gristmill/shipping port. To me, this is uncharted territory. Usually I hunt fields but after seeing what he has been posting, I wanted a piece of that pie too. It paid off! First signal was a really toasted large copper. Then came three Musketballs, a ton of lead, then the 1815 half penny. "Genuine British Copper ". Nabbed the 1927 Confederation medal which is my second one to date. Found a two ringer, pistol ball, and a huge honker of a lead ball. Eyeballed some marbles and dug a few flat buttons. There's a crapload of old broken bottles and pottery everywhere. Got the compulsory flatware...a couple of old forks...no spoons this time, oddly enough! When I was sorting my finds, I came across an odd shaped piece of lead which I thought was a fired musketball. Cleaned it up and discovered that it's an acorn carved from a musketball!! One of my favorite finds ever! Thanks for the inspiration Romeo!! Thanks for looking and HH

Great finds Ace! Thanks for sharing...

Good hunt! That buckle has considerable age to it! I'm only asking for a 25% inspiration tax so you can send that to me at your earliest convenience!

Thanks guys. I'll have to talk to my accountant (the wife) and work on your compensation lol. Do you have any idea of age on the buckle?

Looks to be up to mid 1600s...probably a little earlier...

Nice finds! Nice carved acorn!

Nice variety of finds. You obviously shouldn't write-off any hunting possibilities just because you usually partake in one kind or another.

It's not that I would rule it out, just that it's about my comfort zone of farmers fields and private properties lol. I'm going back first chance I get!!
