No pics, you all know what this all looks like. Our county fair ended last night and I headed up early to pick some clad. Took a screwdriver to probe but mostly just picking it out of the grass. Had a pretty good mess of clad in the pouch, but the first dime I picked up....1964. A nice little surprise.

Congratualtions on the silver! I bet you found a "ton" of clad at the fair, bet there is a silver or two waiting your coil! GL & HH.

Surface find? As in a recent drop?

Pretty cool!

Silver on a clad hunt.......well, when ya got magic touch, ya got the magic touch!! :notworthy:

Funny you said that, because a few weeks ago I went out on a hunt at a park and found nothing but clad. The next day I was working and as I got out of my car I saw a nickel on the ground, picked it up and there was a 1964 beauty. Sometimes life smiles at you:)

Did you mean dime, not nickel?

Congrats on your clad & 64 dime finds - bet that 64 was a surprise & clad is good - anyway thanks for sharing your story of your finds with us & I wish you many more great finds while out dirt fishing.

Yep. Forget the name of this ride, but it sets the same place every year, and I remember riding it when I was a teenager and hearing all of the change raining down when the cage flipped over. Not to much change spent at the fair anymore, almost everything I find is right under that ride. But yes, this dime was just setting there on top of the ground.

So you think the dime was lost recently? Or just recently recovered?
