I set out this morning meaning to hunt an old mining town from around 1850 but I decided to finish up a previous hunt on the property of a torn down house which was on the way. I had hit this spot a couple of weeks ago without much success except around the driveway. I found about 20 coins, all pennies in a 4 sq. ft. area and was getting some other hits when the rains came and shut me down. I figured I'd finish up, 20 min. tops and then on to the mining town. Two hours later, I had dug 139 coins(all clad,$2.93, except for 2 wheats, 1952 and 1944) plus a rusted maul from the base of an old oak tree , a small piece of metal, and a balance weight for a tire. There were 125 pennies, 8 rosies, 3 nickels, and 3 quarters All of this came from a 10 x 10 area on the driveway. Every time I thought I was through, the 250 played my tune. I finally decided to stop and come back another time. There's no doubt that there's probably more to be found . Never did get to the mining town but that gives me something to look forward to.
