A Silver, an Early Military and a First!

Got a late start to the day due to wind and rain so decided to hit a previously hunted site that had just been disked down. Conditions were ideal and we've had good luck on this site before so we were optimistic. Very first target of the hunt was the 1920 silver 10 cent so that took some of the pressure off. Got onto the iron patch and started picking up buttons.

Got my "first" late into the hunt...the sword scabbard stud...something that I've always wanted to find but has eluded me these past 14 years!

Find of the day for me is the early 66th Regiment of Foot button...1800-1820 era. Cleaned up better than I expected!

We were lucky with our timing. The field was just rolled flat and was going to be planted today...

Timing is hugely important to our success, & Cru'dad has to monitor over 700 fields & know there crop rotation, to understand what seed is going in when. It takes work & is no accident, however, sometimes you just turn up at the right time!
