I was really happy to be going out detecting this morning. I get to the sports field the gate is shut and locked no where to park, ok, plan B.
I go to a school and the driveway to the side I want to search is blocked off! What the heck!!??
Ok! Plan B-2, the other side of the school where the parking lot is open. At this point I was thinking about going to a large park in another town but I would lose half an hour getting there. I'm here, make the best if it!
Not too bad, better than last week...no bugs looking for a new home!
The usual, junk, clad, & scored a Susan B! A couple of buttons one looks kind of old but I don't think it is, and my saving grace! A little sterling earring with mother of pearl.
So two strikes, but I wasn't out! Pretty good day!

Hope you all did well! Some of you have! I've seen the posts! GL. HH!

At lest I'm back into silver, whew! image.webp

Well, you sure beat my 10 hours of work! Congrats on the silver.

I love the day's when you get that little something that makes all the day's hard work pay off. Sometimes I don't leave until I get that something. 8-)

Keep @ it and HH !! :hello2:

Susan B is a good score, i found a few of them.

Little silver is better than no silver ! It's just more treasure for the chest ! Congrats

That was an awesome write-up! Congrats on the silver that saved the day! Love that Sunbeam AA LOL !!

I've kind of gotten used to changing "my" plans. I've always found His to be a better idea anyway. :)

Ya know, looking at your finds, I can see indications that you are listening very closely! The tiny targets, the nickels, even the pencil erasers. They all show me that you are doing a fine job. There's going to be a lot of good finds in your future.

Nice job!

Thank you all!
This little collection took four hours.

I would love to always stay out detecting till I got a goodie, but people would be out looking for the lost idiot...me! Only MD'er in the family, so,I'm the nut! No need to prove that!

I was pretty sure that was a dollar coin but didn't have my glasses, too much going on on top my head with the Castro cap, sweat band, large headphones, & hair, no room for glasses up there!

I was so happy that was silver! I was holding it in my hand going, "that's got a little weight to it!"

Those AA batteries are one of the few things that confuse my detector, it's right 90% of the time. I dig the trash because I don't want to miss the gold it comes up as foil, I can almost read the M6's mind... almost!

You will love this one WHADIFIND, on the way back to the truck I ask for something "special", lo and behold what pulls into the school parking lot...a police car! Heaven must have been ROTF with that one! She ran my plate and waved as she left, I waved back saying to myself "nice one!"
I dig what ever the M6 tells me may be a good target unless it's a foot down and part of the sprinkler system, I leave that one alone!

That large button has a loop on the back and it's kind if heavy for it's size, looks to be copper, the M6 said it was a quarter. I think I remember seeing a similar one on T Net but it was a while back. Can someone tell me what it is? It's on the left has a sun or flower design.

It's amazing how a piece of silver can save the day. I was out for about 4 hours yesterday and no silver. Fortunately a few Indians came to my rescue and saved the day.

Hi MsBeep =) In general if I find around 3$ in clad or more its a good hunt and a silver item then is just the cakes icing but its always great getting at least one item of interest like that!

Yep. Ask you shall receive. LOL AND, you were "on the way back to the truck"! Seems like two standards in my book! LOL

Those AA batteries are tricky. :) But, have you ever found one of those watch type batteries? Flat, silvery in appearance, and just a wonderful signal! :)

I was out about 4.5 - 5 hours on my last posted hunt. I figured out that 5 hours is a long, long time, for ANYTHING!!! LOL

Got to always love plan 2 congrats

It had been a month since I found my last silver (my pre- pic posting days! Lol!). I've been finding a few wheats still nice finds, gives you hope there's more goodies.

The batteries are kind of wired, some I know that's what they are, depends the types of metals they are made of. Button batteries always come up dime or quarter unless they have stared corroding, then I get a little iron in the reading.
Usually if the signal bounces around in the coin range it's a good "something". If it bounces to iron. Usually not, but then there is the problem of two targets, a good & bad, stacked.
I actually had to step on the handle of my screw driver to pry the Sunbeam (battery) out of the ground! That's an oxymoron!

After 4 hours of hunting I kept asking myself why I didn't park closer, then the little voice chimes in with," it doesn't matter where you parked the truck you'd still have to walk back to it! Does the little voice always have to be right!

You should have heard the argument last year right before I found the ring! It was hilarious !

Oh, I suppose the lil voice doesn't HAVE to always be right. But, it always is! LOL

I also know about those "arguments". I was moseying along in a large park one day. Just letting the detector lead me. When,
I got the bright idea in my head about where I figured some activity might had taken place and was going to go that way. I kept getting this feeling
of "WRONG"!. So, I started pleading my case, (to myself of course). :) After a couple convincing arguments and a couple more finds along the path I was already on. I heard, clear as a bell, "Shutup! And, just go where I'm telling ya!" I gave in, and sure enough, about another 50 feet along the way, 14 kt gold band!

I've been very contrite after that, made me a believer! LOL

dug four AA batteries this morning, and a bunch of trash, would have loved to find even a little sterling anything! I was sweating so bad my head phones kept sliding down off my ears, LOL. glad that you ended the drought, now please send some my way!

What no glasses? actually I don't wear mine for the sweat and dirt. hey it is what it is and it ain't what it ain't and any silver is good silver! glad the drought is over... please send some silver my way!

sorry about the repeat, the 1 1/2 year old grand daughter was mooching M&Ms from me and things just happened! LOL

Dirtlooter at lest you have a legit excuse, granddaughter, if I mess up it's ALL ME! Sending silver thoughts your way, I hope you find an awesome silver coin hoard! One of the members here slips a pair of socks over his headphones to absorb sweat and keep the from slipping off. Mine do the same unless I wear my hat.

WHADIFIND, my convo when I found the ring went like this, voice- "you should head over there, where a blue piece of trash is". Me- " that's a piece of trash, there's nothing there." Voice- "you should go check it out". Me- "It's trash!" Voice- "Just go check it out!" Me- "ok, fine! But it's trash!" A foot before I got to the trash the ring was just laying on the surface! The piece of trash has 'juicy pop drop' printed on it!!! Lol!
