This year on Aug. 21 a Total eclipse of the sun will be visible from the U. S. This is rare event. The path will start in northern Oregon and travel southeast thru Colorado, Missouri to South Carolina.
Duration is less than 3 minutes for this one — some go to just over 4 minutes.
Between 2015 and 2019 there have been a total of only four total eclipses in those five years. And usually they are in far away places, The 2015 total eclipse was only visible from part of the North Sea and the Arctic.
2015 1 Arctic Ocean
2016 1 Sumatra, S. Borneo, Pacific Ocean
2017 1 N. America (Oregon, S. Idaho, Colorado
2018 0
2019 1 S. Pacific, Chile, Argentina
This one is the first one visible in U. S. in almost 40 years.
I was wondering if anyone from our little community was going?
