A Very Old Trunk

Any information of the trunk or the lock would be appreciated. I picked it up at a thrift store for $25.00 I tried to sell it, but the best offer I got was $75.00.

I guess I developed a connection with the piece and just couldn't let it go! The Lock has a reversed federal eagle on it and that just peaks my curiosity.

I have searched for HOURS looking for anything similar and I can't find a lock like that even with the Eagle Lock Co. I would appreciate any comments or knowledge.
