AAI? Indian head on pin/badge.

I was out with a friend of mine the other day to a house that has been standing for 150 years. He kicked my butt with his e-trac. I found one old crusty copper, he found four of them.

I need an etrac or ctx!

No date legible on any of the coppers... (we were close to the sea). Surprisingly, no silver, but a good hunt for our first time to this site.

He also found this cool item, which I think used to be a pin or a badge. I guess it could be a token...

Any ideas to the origin? Beside the Indian head it says "A A I". On the back it says "C M S".
