Lots of different things you can do on that site

Thanks guys

There is a smartphone App called OnXHunt that gives you the GPS, Topo and Tax Map info on any piece of property in the state you "set up" in. And contact info for the property owner!

I got my home state free at a local sporting event. It's a pretty neat App. Shows where you are so long as you have cell reception. Designed for hunters but useful for detecting as well.

Thats the best option. They are current, which can save problems.

Most counties have a good GIS web site. I've been using them from Day 1, but they take learning on a moderately decent computer. Some work on a smart phone.

Don't forget to ask about tax deed properties. You may do well there too.

check out Fetch.gis most counties have it for free, tells current land owner and shows boundaries.......
