Access to my mining claim over private property

My claim is surrounded by 3 private properties, but the upriver side is N.F... There is a road that goes threw one of the private properties that goes down to my claim. Can I access my claim that way or do I need permission from the landowner ? I have no problem accessing my claim on the F.S. land .

Depends if there is a public easement across the private property. If the road continues into NF land you should be able to find a Motorized Vehicle Use Map (MVUM) online or from the local NF office, if it shows as public on there, you should be able to use the road. Otherwise you would have to obtain permission from the landowner.
