doesn't seem to be much difference between 250 and the 350 except the coil and the new term for all metal can i expect the same performance if i put the new coil on a 250

I believe the 8.5" X 11" pro coils for ACE series work on both machines.

The only thing from stock configuration I could see was-

350 has larger DD coil; works on 8.25Khz freq.; has enhanced iron resolution

250 works on 6.5 Khz freq.

Other than that using the 350's coil your still lacking according to specs. enhanced iron and a different freq.
