Relic Hunting
No hunting until at least this weekend in middle Tennessee due to snow. I took this opportunity to update site boxes with relic finds from last week and this past Monday. The first box is from Col. R.D. Allison's 1863 CSA Cavalry Squadron Camp. The second box is from Gen. John Hunt Morgan's 1862 CSA Camp. I hope you enjoy the pictures. If you are new to relic hunting, don't expect to recover this many finds in a few trips unless you are very lucky. These boxes represent many hours of hunting and about 3 pairs of Rocky hunting boots worn out. Dman will be back in the saddle with Josh and I this weekend and maybe we can scratch up a few relics to post-LOL. HH, Quindy.

My CW Relic Finds for 2011=40

Love the frames Quindy. The snow driving you crazy yet? Take care my friend.

Very nice collection of CW finds.

Definitely a lot of time involved that a non MD'er won't notice. Too bad you can't display the worn out boots beside them as well ;D

Great job on displaying the finds!!! Waiting for the snow to melt here as well. Had 15 inches last week, got 5 more last night and they are calling for another 5 the rest of today. Can't wait to get out and dig... ;D

Somehow, I just knew you would be the first to reply Jesse. We are not accustomed to this many snow days in Tennessee in the last several years. Although we generally only relic hunt just one or sometimes two days a week in the Winter, we have had to select them carefully this year. I'm sick of this weather (chime in Nana).
I promised to keep you entertained until you can get out and hunt in Maine and i'm doing my best. HH Bud, Quindy.

Nice collection ! I'll be glad when I have a nice setup like that so I can put it up in the house for all to see.

And as to the snow , well here in Northern Ky we are still snowed in and we just got 4 more inches and now it is 18 deg outside.
What is not frozen on the ground is one large mud bath. I will be glad when Summer is here.

i know that took lots of work to get that many relics.the hours spent hunting them with friends can never be relized by someone that has never relic hunted. i was at the Dman store other day and he had strange people there doing a snow dance. it is funny since he has not been able to hunt it has snowed more than i can ever remember. he is doing that to slow you down. lol. take care and hope you get in some fine hunting this weekend.

very very nice!!! :hello2: B-E-A-UTIFUL
if you are running out of room at your house you can send them ......I will come and get them!lol :icon_thumright:

Very nice display Quindy. That is just the type of display relic hunters like to fill. You guys are tearing it up over there. We have snow coming tonight over here in east Tennessee. I was supposed to go to Chattanooga tomorrow but I see that is going to be cancelled. Bring on the weekend and warmer weather and many many relic finds. I need lots of practice for the DIV hunt in March.

Q-man,
Excellent CW displays there Buckaroo. The TENN TRIO is tough to beat. Valentines Day is coming soon so don't forget Dman.

Excellent display. Great finds!

See what happens when you listen to me weedhopper. You find really good relics. I will be back this weekend so you better bring an extra goody bag to carry all the relics we will find.

Great finds for a Vol fan ;D

I'm sick of the snow days too!

Yeah Finds! Boo Snow! Go Hogs!

Very nice cw relics.have fun making that display.

:-X Snowing here as I type. :crybaby2: What the heck? Why here? We rarely ever get more than a flurry or two around here....and I can remember a time being really excited over seeing a few snow fluffies scooting around. I'm thinkin' one of our Yankee friends here has left that back door wide open this year. :-\ BUT....I DO see that we're in for a fantastic weekend! :icon_thumright:
Your display is as purdy as a spring daffodil.

Nana

War Eagle, Rooster. ;D

A great looking assortment of relics from each site Quindy ! Grouping and displaying the finds from specific sites keeps a small portion of history intact for future generations . Each Individule relic tells a partial story of what took place on that site through out it's history ! This is a fine tribute to the soldiers who spent time on and somtimes gave their lives for the very land you walk on. I give you an A+ on this Quindy ! MaineRelic
