Hadn't tried to clean this one till last night. Found out it was carved out and the voids full of dirt. Somebody destroyed a fairly good Buffalo nickel.

That's a cool piece nonetheless.

I like it.
What are the odds of actually finding such a unique piece??

Probably a cooler way to destroy a Buffalo nickel than the untold millions that were (and are) domed and made into buttons .
That's good work with a drill, and a tiny jewelers saw blade to create that !

Cool! I wish I had it!

sent from a potato...

I found a silver washington quarter done that way once, but it was bent and the silver was soft and it broke in half.

that is a cool find.I would take that over any typical buffalo any day.I just hope it wasn't that 37-D three leg I have wanted to find all these years.

I like it. Nice digs

Nice jewelry to coin conversion artifact there !!

My daughter has a pair of ear rings made the same way from buffalo nickels.

still a nice find, wouldn't hurt my feelings to find one

Nice one! I've seen a few like that over the years, cut out coins seem to have been pretty popular at one time.

That is a great find, reminds me of those hobo nickels Iv'e seen a couple of times posted on the site!

I LIKE IT! Very nice find.

how cool is that, it may make it worth more actually. good find.

I cut a lot of coins like that in the late 70's and gave them to people. I should have stamped my initials on them. Lol. They were real popular jewelry back then. I think it's a cool find!

Nice dig and thank you for sharing those pictures . I would trade 10 of the buffalos I have dug this year to dig one of those , they are cool
