Above is the 2 hour morning hunt.
Spent 4 hours after lunch on the dump field 2. Last hour in heavy rain, only left after I was soaked right throw.
The reason I targeted this field rather than the other 20 or more I could have done was to get some new types of capbadges & buttons. My interest was sparked by dump field 1 where the total is over 100 (not including 100 or more from other fields). Therefore to get a new type is getting more difficult. The same can be said for Military buttons. So I'm always pleased to find a new type.
Found some interesting pot shards. I heavily glazed clay pot with the handles missing. Not British, anyone know?
Found my first ever capbadge with the pin on the back - common Royal Engineers
ASC - Army Service Corp
New types - Dorest 1915 & RF
x2 Inns of court - 3rd ones off the field - Very odd as they were a very small Regiment which didn't last long. Only have 3 in total all off this field!
Buttons(new types);
Royal Dragoons
Machine Gun Corp
London & North Western Railway Company - pre dates 1923
Coin - 1855 French [10 centimes?]
A brass sword chape, musket ball, etc.....
Found a whatzit nail:
