Age of a pewter cup?

Can anyone tell me a rough age of this cup? The only markings are on the bottom and says 50 with a capitol A underneath. Its bent up pretty bad, but I'm still curious.

Cool cup ! I cant give you a date but, in the 19th and 20th centurys , companys would put catalog numbers on them for mail order .

I have one similar, I'm going to look at mine when I get home tonight, I don't know if mine is marked.

Here's a pic of mine, it's not the same.View attachment 1311362 mine is marked Rogers Bros. View attachment 1311363 it's probably pewter as well, it's really soft, I could probably stomp it flat like a beer can.

You can find this under verification of pewter marks---measures were often inspected several times during their lifetime and can carry several verification marks . Sometimes at inspections the inspector merely stamped a 2 digit number signifying the year of re-inspection--hope this helps

Here's a pewter candle holder I dug up a few years ago, it's marked New Amsterdam Silver Co./ 602 / pewter, I don't know if this kind of stuff is worth anything or not, isn't pewter considered a " junk " metal ?View attachment 1311547View attachment 1311548View attachment 1311549

If you google " pewter hallmarks " you'll find way more than you'll care to look at. LOL
