Age of a pewter cup?

Can anyone tell me a rough age of this cup? The only markings are on the bottom and says 50 with a capitol A underneath. Its bent up pretty bad, but I'm still curious.

Cool cup ! I cant give you a date but, in the 19th and 20th centurys , companys would put catalog numbers on them for mail order .

I have one similar, I'm going to look at mine when I get home tonight, I don't know if mine is marked.

You can find this under verification of pewter marks---measures were often inspected several times during their lifetime and can carry several verification marks . Sometimes at inspections the inspector merely stamped a 2 digit number signifying the year of re-inspection--hope this helps

Late victorian period i'd say. Nice piece.

If you google " pewter hallmarks " you'll find way more than you'll care to look at. LOL
