Airports and air fields

Has anyone gone MDing at an airport or airfield? I recently got permission to do some MDing at my local regional airport. (Outside of the perimeter fence) The airport has been an air field since the 1930's so I am hoping for some good finds. Plus the airport runs along route 11 in Maryland and was a Civil war supply route. Will post if I find anything good.

I bet when them dudes in their open cockpits flew upside down back in the thirties they lost a lotta coins.....Indian Heads ,Seated Libertys, 20 dollar goldpieces and such...... ....................Seriously, Good Luck ...

If it's US11, go for it!!! I live in that corridor in the Northern Shenandoah Valley. Anywhere along that road should be good for relics. I've found alot.

You never know what you can find. If the USAAF utilized it in World War II, you might find some military relics.
