Hi I purchased this bill off ebay for like 12 bucks. It has nothing on the back and it doesnt feel right. It suppose to be a 1864 State of Alabama 1 dollar bank note.

I was told that the authentic pieces were made of two sheets and cotton fiber. This appears to be on just one thin piece of paper. or cloth whatever it is. any ideas? and What its worth??? thanks!!

Hi my son bought a 1869 virgina bank note at the cion show last month in tampa and it looks the same and i saw alot of them from many venders with nothing on the back . Wish you could have seen a nine year old haggle a deal on the price started at 25 and he got it for 5 dollars the vender realy had a great time working with him and it helps to be nine. And the best part of it all when he looked a the note later it was printed on march 13 his birthday. happy hunting Ron

I was just looking at a magazine that stated that these notes were only printed on the front they were posted on the back when they were cashed in. The value of the notes plus the interest were paid at that time.
