Alabama and Pensacola areas

Most beaches are open to metal detecting in Pensacola. Should have not problems.

You WILL have a problem in Pensacola if you are on any of the National Seashore areas such as Ft. Pickens (which you can't drive to now anyway) or the Gulf Islands National Seashore to the east towards Navarre. Also, the City of Pensacola has outlawed Metal Detecting on public property within the city limits due to a large amount of historical excavations that are underway with new ones being found all the time.

To my knowledge there is no such law in Alabama but I could be wrong.

Don't mean to be a wet blanket but this is being enforced more than ever.

I may be wrong., but it is my understanding it is against the law to detect in any National Park, National Seashore or National Grounds.

Personally, I would consider the Panama City and Ft Walton Beach areas. Lots of great beaches to hunt, night life if you want to partake and generally less expensive then Pensacola. I really like the water at Panama City and if you have access to a Browning Third Lung or other type of Hookah set up, take it and use it.
