Sorry man, that looks like silver plating flaking off, not patina. I think you need to have a discussion with whomever sold it to you.
 

ancient coins have been known to have been silvered. where the people of that time would silver plate bronze coins to pass them off as simular silver ones of a higher denomination, but in this case i dont think this coin was made in bronze and therfore i think its countereit
