Strange. Wonder how you can misplace 750,000 to 1 million gallons of water.

The article did not say:
1 How they figured out the water was missing, other than the residents were without water. Guess that means, nothing came out of the tap when you turne it on.

2. What they did to get the water flowing again.

3. How they came to the conclusion that it was 1 million gallons that was missing.

Interesting report but rather vague in the details department.

Maybe an underground City was filling it's Swimming pools.

Tapped into the waterline till they had what they wanted then Plugged the Hole

before the water company could locate the leak.
